EV Charging Stations are rapidly increasing in China
According to statistics, China Automobile New Energy Vehicle Manufacturers Association has exceeded 350 vehicles in 21 years, achieving simultaneous growth. What are the main operators?
Today, the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Arrangement (hereinafter referred to as the “Arrangement”) released the operation of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in 2021, and several answers can be found.
☆The quantity of private E-mobility chargers has increased sharply
1. In 2021, the number of charging stations in China will increase to 936,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 193%. During the same period,
the sales volume of new energy vehicles in China was 3.521 million, a year-on-year increase of 157.5%.
It can be seen that in 2021, both the number of charging infrastructure and the sales of new energy vehicles will experience explosive growth. The incremental ratio of pile vehicles will be 1:3.7. The charging infrastructure can basically meet the rapid development of new energy vehicles.
In addition, the demand for charging continues to grow rapidly,
and the total charging capacity in 2021 will reach 11.15 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 58%.
2. In terms of private charging piles, as of the end of 2021,
the alliance has sampled information on about 1.851 million vehicles through its member vehicle companies,
of which 1.47 million are equipped with vehicles, and nearly 400,000 new energy vehicles have not been equipped with private charging. pile.
Group users build their own piles, there is no fixed parking space in the place of residence,
and the property in the place of residence does not cooperate are the main factors for not building charging facilities with the vehicle,
accounting for 48.6%, 10.3%, and 9.9% respectively; users use special EV charging stations to charge and work,
there are no fixed parking spaces on the land, it is difficult to apply for installation and other reasons account for a total of 31.2%.
3. Looking ahead to 2022, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers predicts that sales of new energy vehicles are expected to exceed 5 million. The number of charging facilities will naturally increase dramatically.
The alliance expects that in 2022, there will be 1.9 million new EV charging-built vehicles,
and the number of vehicles will reach 3.37 million; 543,000 public charging piles will be added,
including 244,000 public EV AC charging piles and 299.9 public EV DC charging piles.
The number of public EV charging will reach 1.69 million, including 922,000 public EV AC charging and 768,000 public EV DC charging.
The alliance also predicts that 25,000 new public EV charging stations will be added in 2022 when the number of public charging stations will reach 100,000.
☆The top ten areas in the number of public charging piles account for more than 70%
1. From the perspective of the distribution area of public charging piles, Guangdong Province stands out. Alliance data shows that by the end of 2021,
the number of public charging piles in Guangdong Province will reach 182,000 units, far ahead of other regions.
In second place in Shanghai, with 103,000 units.
From a national perspective, only these two regions have more than 100,000 public charging piles.
The third to fifth places are Jiangsu Province, Beijing Municipality, and Zhejiang Province,
with the number of possessions in the range of 80,000 to 100,000 units, 97,300 units, 96,800 units, and 82,000 units, respectively.
The sixth to eighth places are Shandong Province, Hubei Province, and Anhui Province,
all with around 60,000 units, followed by Henan Province and Fujian Province with around 40,000 units.
2. Generally speaking, the top ten areas of public EV chargers are the areas that promoted new energy vehicles earlier and participated in the “10 cities, 1000 vehicles” project of new energy vehicles earlier.
Especially in Guangdong Province, new energy vehicles and intelligent network connections have been regarded as important industrial directions.
At the Fifth Session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress held recently, Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong Province,
said that this year Guangdong Province will enhance the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry,
and develop and expand industries such as new energy vehicles.
Strive to build about 4,500 EV charging stations by 2025. There are about 250,000 EV charging stations and E-mobility public EV charging.
3. It is worth mentioning that the number of public charging piles in the top ten areas with public charging piles is 822,000, accounting for more than 70% (71.7%) of the national public charging piles.
In contrast, other areas, especially counties, and towns, still have obvious shortages of charging infrastructure.
4. In order to support the development of the new energy vehicle industry and break through the bottleneck in the development of charging infrastructure,
on January 21 this year, 10 departments including the National Development and Reform Commission issued
“Implementation Opinions on Further Improving the Service Support Capability of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure”.
End of the Five-Year Plan, China’s electric vehicle charging support capacity will be further improved,
forming a moderately advanced, balanced, intelligent, and efficient charging infrastructure system,
which can meet the changing needs of more than 20 million electric vehicles.
5. Judging from the use of public charging piles, the number of charging piles is not completely proportional to the charging capacity.
The top ten regions in China(Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Beijing) for charging electricity are different from the top ten regions in terms of the number of charging piles.
The models of public charging piles are mainly passenger cars and buses,
and other types of vehicles such as sanitation vehicles, logistics vehicles, and taxis account for a small proportion.
☆Public charging pile operators “four points in the world”
1. The data shows that by the end of 2021, there are 4 companies operating more than 100,000 public charging piles, namely Star Charge, TELD, State Grid, and Cloud Quick Charge,
with 257,000 and 252,000 charging piles respectively, 196,000 units, 145,000 units.
The total number of public charging piles of these four leading enterprises reached 850,000 units, accounting for 74% of the total. The number of charging piles owned by other operators is basically below 40,000.
2. In addition to public charging piles, the alliance also separately counts data on shared private charging piles.
The so-called shared private pile refers to a charging pile that is built by individuals to meet the charging of private vehicles and can provide charging services to other vehicles.
As of the end of 2021, 72,395 shared private piles have been counted, of which 70,992 are Star Charge, accounting for 98%. In addition, there are 1,316 shared private piles and 87 cloud fast chargers in the special call. Other operators have not yet launched this business.
3. With the rapid growth of new energy vehicle sales, the utilization rate of public charging piles and shared private piles will also increase, and operators are expected to improve their profitability.
Star Charge, TELD, etc. have introduced some shared private piles. Such charging piles do not require enterprises to invest in construction costs but can share profits,
which also helps to improve the profitability of charging pile operators.
☆Beijing leads the way in the number of swap stations
In the past two years, the popularity of the Swap electricity mode has also been heating up, especially in the recent CATL,
which has entered the Swap electricity track, which has caused heated discussions in the industry.
Alliance statistics show that by the end of 2021, there were 1,298 swap stations in the top ten regions of the country, doubling from 550 by the end of 2020.
However, only Beijing, Guangdong, and Zhejiang provinces have more than 100 buildings, with 255, 178, and 118 respectively.
The top three operators are NIO, Aulton, and Hangzhou First Technology Engineering, with 789, 402, and 107 swap stations respectively.
In the past year, NIO has significantly accelerated the construction of power swap stations. At the end of 2020, there were only 175 power swap stations, ranking second. By the end of 2021, it has jumped to first place, with an increase of 614 power swap stations.
△In fact, our company Wenzhou Bluesky Energy Technology Co., Ltd. keeps in tune with Chinese policy and develop a new business “EV CHARGER” in 2017 to contribute our strength to make a greener planet and also lead the EVSE e-mobility in a better way.
Big power like 160kw, 200kw, and 240kw are all available to solve the problems above.
