At present, our most common solar controllers mainly have two types: MPPT and PWM solar charger/controller.
The most common solar charger/controller connects the solar panel’s output to the battery, does nothing else, and automatically disconnects when the battery is full.
Because the battery has internal resistance, the battery cannot be fully charged,
which results in the solar panel not being effective and the charging conversion efficiency being relatively low.
The charging conversion efficiency of the MPPT charger/controller is much higher than that of PWM, which can reach 99%.
It can detect the voltage of solar panels in real-time, which allows the battery to be charged at maximum power output,
greatly reducing the cost and power consumption of the solar system, thereby achieving such high conversion efficiency.
What is a battery?
The battery is an energy storage device in the solar module system. It converts the DC electricity converted by the solar cell array from solar radiation into chemical energy and stores it for load application.
When the battery can meet the power consumption of the load, it tries to store the electric energy generated by the solar cell components during the day,
and at the same time stores the electric energy required by the load during predetermined continuous rainy days.
