Tatsuno flow meter common troubleshooting methods

In the petrochemical industry, tanker flow meters are important metering equipment and are widely used in oil trade settlement, oil inventory management, gas stations, and other fields. However, as the use time increases, a series of problems may occur with our long-term Tatsuno flow meter. These problems will not only affect the metering accuracy of gas pumps but may also have an impact on the interests of gas stations and consumers.

What is the reason for the problems with the Tatsuno flow meter? How to solve it?

1. No oil or small oil output

If the flow meter of the oil dispenser fails to produce oil or the oil volume is small, it is mainly caused by stuck or inflexible rotation. There are many reasons for jamming,

such as corrosion of steel balls in the bottom cover, broken crankshaft, loose positioning screws on the piston,

poor oil quality, impurities entering the flow meter and blocking the piston, etc.

Solution: Disassemble the flow meter, retighten the loose parts, assemble them, and replace the damaged parts.

2. Measurement deviation

The reason for measurement deviation is not only the inaccurate measurement of the flow meter itself but also related to the sensor, computer motherboard, etc.

First, check whether the sensor and main board are out of tolerance. The specific check method is: to remove the sensor from the flow meter,

turn the sensor shaft when the oil dispenser is on (but the oil gun is turned off), and see if the computer display value is 0.5 after one revolution.

L (the size of the displayed value is related to the displacement of the flow meter in one working cycle),

generally a few more turns shall prevail. If it is more or less than 0.5L, the fault of the electronic part should be eliminated first. If it is 0.5L, the cause of the flow meter should be considered.

The specific maintenance steps are as follows:

1 First check whether there is any external leakage in the Tatsuno flow meter. If there is external leakage, replace the corresponding damaged sealing element. After eliminating external leakage, observe the oil sight gauge to see if there are bubbles in the oil.

2 If no problem is found after the above inspection, in the second step, use the adjustment handwheel to adjust the accuracy of the flow meter. After long-term work, the flow meter has caused some wear and tear, causing the accuracy to be out of tolerance. At this time, the hand wheel can be used to adjust the accuracy to reach the legal standard again. When adjusting, adjust the hole spacing according to the corresponding ratio. Do not adjust many hole spacings at one time, which may cause damage to the flow meter.

3 If the accuracy cannot be restored after adjustment by the handwheel, you need to open the end cover and upper cover of the flow meter and carefully check whether the cup is damaged and whether the surface of the distribution valve is worn. Hard particles in the oil can strain the cup or scratch the surface of the distribution valve, which will increase internal leakage and reduce the accuracy of the flow meter. When this happens, it is necessary to replace the cup or grind the surface of the distribution valve.

4 You may encounter this phenomenon during daily refueling: the motor is working, the oil gun discharges oil at a small flow, the flow meter shaft does not move, and the computer does not display numbers. This phenomenon is mainly caused by leakage within the flow meter.
