Tenge oilfield in the Gobi

More than 2,000 years ago, the sound of camel bells accompanied caravans across the vast Gobi desert and embarked on a Silk Road of economy, culture, and integration.

Now, on the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Silk Road has become even busier. Since 2018, ZPEC people with lofty aspirations have also embarked on this road of economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation.

They have brought capital, technology, and equipment to the shore of the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan,

and actively carried out mergers and acquisitions of oil and gas blocks. develop. Through the implementation of the established strategic goal of rooting in Aksu,

based in Xinjiang, layout in Central Asia, and the Belt and Road Initiative,

while realizing their own development, they fulfilled their social responsibilities and made positive contributions to driving local employment and revitalizing Kazakhstan’s economy.

Going out and acquiring the tenge block in the place where the “Belt and Road” initiative was initiated

Tenge Oilfield

Drive east from Aktau, the capital of Mangistau Prefecture in Kazakhstan,

and drive along the east coast of the Caspian Sea for about 2 hours, and you will arrive at the Tenge Oilfield.

On the 414 well sites surrounded by the Gobi,

the drilling rig with an operating depth of 4,000 meters resounded throughout the world. On the drill floor,

4 local employees, with the cooperation of top drive and hydraulic tongs, were busy carrying out drilling operations.

The team leader of ZPEC 38 who is in charge of the well construction,

said that the well was designed to be 2,450 meters deep, and it has been drilled to 1,596 meters so far. This is already the sixth oil well drilled by their team this year.

On the drilling floor of Well 414, about 1 kilometer away, another three drilling rigs are lined up in sequence on the vast Gobi Desert, and they are also working intensively.

Tenge Oilfield used to be the second largest field in Kazakhstan. After part of the gas layer was depleted, it entered the stage of oil layer development.

However, due to various reasons such as capital and technology, the oilfield has not been developed on a large scale,

and the annual crude oil output has basically remained at 100,000. within tons. In 2018, Xin Huaxia Energy completed the asset acquisition transaction of the Tenge Block,

passed the review of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, and completed the shareholder change registration.

In September 2022, in order to continue to deepen the exploration and development integration strategy and continue to expand and strengthen the exploration and development business,

Zhongman Petroleum and its subsidiaries will become the actual controller of Tenge Oilfield by acquiring the equity of Xinhuaxia International Energy Development Co., Ltd.

On February 16 this year, ZPEC took over the operation of Tenge Oilfield. In order to develop it as soon as possible, ZPEC grasped the “bull nose” of well location deployment,

deployed more than 40 vertical wells and horizontal wells, and quickly moved 4 drilling rigs and 3 drilling rigs from projects such as Mahu in Xinjiang and UEP in Pakistan.

The workover rig opened the prelude to the large-scale development of the Tenge Oilfield. Tenge Oilfield is only 9 kilometers away from Wujin Oilfield, the largest oilfield in the country.

On June 30, 2022, according to the reserve assessment report of Tenge Oil and Gas Field issued by Apais Reservoir Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.,

a third-party reserve assessment agency According to the SPE-PRMS standard,

the 2P crude oil geological reserves are 64.414 million tons, and the 2P natural gas geological reserves are 21.8 billion cubic meters.

Take root, technological innovation drives the high-quality development of Tenge Oilfield.

Oil field exploitation

In the Gobi oil area where drilling rigs are roaring and vehicles are constantly shuttling, due to a series of drilling problems such as easy diameter shrinkage,

easy collapse, and easy drill sticking, five years ago, the average drilling cycle of a well-known company that undertook drilling engineering construction tasks in this oil area It’s been around 70 days.

When Li Chundi, chairman of Zhongman Petroleum, visited the oilfield for the first time,

with 50 years of drilling experience, he keenly discovered that as long as new technologies and measures were adopted,

the construction efficiency could be greatly improved, but his suggestions did not It has been paid attention to by the construction party,

but the drilling speed increase has not been implemented. Now, ZPEC has dispatched its own drilling team. They strived for technological innovation in the battle for the development of the Tenge Oilfield and achieved the speed of ZPEC in one fell swoop,

which quickly verified what Li Chundi said. Drilling target layers in Tenge Oilfield are generally more than 2,400 meters. The drilling period of the first well 408 constructed by the ZPEC drilling team was 47.96 days,

the drilling period of the second well 415 was 33.13 days, and the drilling period of the third well 464 was 26.9 days. My God… Today, a well can be completed in about 17 days. While setting drilling records repeatedly,

the 4 drilling teams have also greatly accelerated the development speed of the oil field and greatly reduced the cost.

It is not accidental that the ZPEC team has achieved a steady speed increase and efficiency increase step by step. Drilling engineering pays attention to overall operations.

During the development of Tenge Oilfield, they copied the successful operation mode of the domestic Wensu block in Xinjiang, and the upstream and downstream industrial chains interacted.

In synergistic and complementary development, all links can be seamlessly connected, and most of the projects are completed independently,

making their core competitiveness more obvious. At the same time, in order to further increase the drilling speed safely and efficiently,

ZPEC’s technical team re-optimized the wellbore structure according to the actual formation conditions,

developed and used a drilling fluid system more suitable for the oilfield,

and used the digital remote command system to realize the monitoring of the drilling site.

Real-time transmission of all data and screens, once encountering problems, front and rear experts can analyze,

remotely diagnose, and deal with them decisively, making the entire construction safer and more efficient. With the acceleration of the drilling rhythm,

the Tenge Oilfield has also started to accelerate the production increase. “Now, the daily crude oil production of the Tenge Oilfield has repeatedly hit new highs.

With the completion of new wells that have been drilled and put into production one after another, production will also rise rapidly.

We will continue to The task is to drill more wells, produce more oil,

and comprehensively win the tough battle of increasing production from new wells and stabilizing production from old wells,”

said Jandosov Ahmed, deputy general manager of Kazakhstan in charge of production and production of TOG. Orzabekovich said.

Reinvest, use technical strength to open the door of oil and gas in shore blocks

Tenge oilfield in the Gobi

In summer, the oil fields on the coast of Atyrau are hot. As far as the eye can see, the tide of the Caspian Sea is looming,

the ground is barren, and the fish and shellfish left by the low tide can be seen everywhere. A red, white, and blue 7,000-meter drilling rig is dotted in the vast sand sea. Amidst the roar of the sky,

it accelerates toward the “underground palace” meter by meter. At the same time, a red ZJ30 vehicle-mounted drilling rig Also already standing on the shore 2 wells well site will soon be drilled.

“The coast of the Caspian Sea has exceptional oil and gas resources. The target formations drilled by these two drilling rigs are located at 2,405 meters and 715 meters respectively.

Through drilling, we can obtain first-hand data such as mud logging, well logging, and cores. It will also obtain data such as production capacity, crude oil properties,

formation pressure, etc., so as to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent reporting of reserves and large-scale development.” On the shore of the first exploration well in the second oil and gas block invested and acquired by Zhongman Kazakhstan Du Yongbo,

Deputy General Manager and Geological Director of Shore Oilfield said at the drilling site of Well Bian 1.

In fact, in order to find out the “black gold” buried underground for hundreds of millions of years as soon as possible,

the 3D seismic field acquisition work of the shore oilfield has already been carried out. , 6 favorable oil-bearing structural traps have been established successively in the Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic.

At the same time, ZPEC discovered after investigating the Dongke Oilfield 6 kilometers away from the shore oilfield,
and the Kara Oilfield 20 kilometers away. They are located in the same structural belt and have the same accumulation background.

Experts believe that the newly discovered favorable traps in the Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic systems in the shore project have great exploration potential through analogy analysis.

In order to further support these discoveries, in 2022, Apais Oil Reservoir Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.,

an independent third-party reserve evaluation agency hired by ZPEC conducted a PRMS crude oil reserve evaluation on the shore block. After the evaluation,

the shore block 2P The crude oil geological reserves are 25.232 million tons, and the 3P crude oil geological reserves are 27.9506 million tons.

Chen Qingjun, vice president of ZPEC Petroleum and general manager of Zhongya Energy Company,

has worked in the international market for more than 20 years and participated in negotiation, bidding,

and construction of many overseas projects in Iraq and Indonesia. For the development of coastal blocks,

He is full of confidence: “With the further exploration of oil and gas layers in coastal blocks, we rely on the group’s advantages of ‘three integrations’ of exploration and development, drilling engineering,

and equipment manufacturing to make the successful exploration and development of the Zhongman Wensu block The operation mode will continue to be applied to the offshore oilfields,

and strive to build this block into a model of win-win cooperation between China and Kazakhstan under the framework of the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’.”

Integrate into and empower local economic and social development

“Here, there are many employees from Kazakhstan like me. They drill wells, produce oil, build oil fields together, and learn many new technologies from them.”

Speaking of the changes brought to work and life since the large-scale development of Tenge Oilfield,

Zhong Yelken Buick, the team leader of the 7th drilling team of MAN Petro, expressed his joy beyond words.

He told reporters at the 18H-01 well site where he participated in the drilling construction that this is the third well he has participated in drilling since he came to Tenge Oilfield.

With technical support, they drilled each well smoothly and faster than the other well and set a drilling record in the oil area every time.

He was very proud to create such a good result together with everyone. Zhongman Petroleum implements a shift system in the local area. Yerken Buick can return to Almaty to accompany his family every once in a while.

He said, “Thanks to ZPEC for providing me with such a good development platform.

I have improved my drilling and management skills, and my income has provided a big umbrella for my family,

and my life has become better and better. It is ZPEC that has improved my family’s happiness index.”

Because I can use ZPEC He is proficient in language communication. Today, Yerken Buick has become a bridge of work and friendship between Chinese and Kazakh employees in the drilling team.

He said, “Chinese and Kazakh employees join hands to sow the seeds of unity and cooperation on the oil field,

and jointly harvest and develop I will continue to work hard to make greater contributions to the development of the oilfield.”

At present, ZPEC has 400 Kazakhstan employees in Kazakhstan’s tenge and shore oilfields. More than 90% of ZPEC’s employees in Kazakhstan have effectively promoted local employment and improved the living standards of employees.

During the merger and development process of Tenge and Shore Oilfields, ZPEC actively fulfilled its social responsibilities and benefited the local people,

which is a microcosm of many Chinese companies going global. Compared with some companies that may leave after completing a project or a project across the country,

Zhongman Petroleum develops oil fields that are rooted in the local area. Once an oil field is developed for decades,

profitability is guaranteed, and long-term tax payments can also be paid.

To help the local economy continue to develop after the company builds a platform for oil field development,

all local employees and even their children may benefit from it. In recent years, private enterprises like Zhongman Petroleum have actively responded to the call of the state and continuously accelerated the pace of “going out”,

and have become an important force in the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road”.

Li Chundi, chairman of ZPEC Petroleum, said, “Kazakhstan’s tenge and shore projects are the beginning of our attempt to explore and develop overseas.

In the future, the group will use Aksu Oilfield in Xinjiang as a logistics support base to further expand in Central Asia, the Middle East, and more.

” In the “Belt and Road” market, our private enterprises must have dedication and contribute oil to the motherland.  If there is a new project bidding,

as long as the conditions are good, we will actively participate in it, and we will unswervingly go along the “Belt and Road” to achieve Mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.”
