Two common connection methods of breakaway valves

Two common connection methods for breakaway valves are commonly used in fuel engine hoses. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two connection methods?

The advantages are simple structure, easy manufacturing, and convenient installation.

It can be directly connected to the pipe thread. It has good sealing performance and is suitable for high-pressure pipelines.

It is also the most commonly used breakaway valve in our production and is widely used in various models such as WY, HY, HG… etc.

The disadvantage is that it can only be connected to the same specification of both ends of the externally threaded pipe joints, and the installation space requires a larger space.

It can be connected with pipeline threads of different specifications, such as pipes and joints with internal threads on one side and external threads on the other side.

It is flexible and easy to install, suitable for a wide range of environments, and can realize pipelines’ quick connection and disconnection.

It is also quite common in our production, often used in EH, FW, KT… and other models where putting the breakaway valve in the middle of the hose is not convenient.

The disadvantage is that the structure is relatively complex, the manufacturing cost will be higher, and the sealing performance may be slightly worse than the breakaway valve with internal threads at both ends.

In general, the two breakaway valves have their advantages and disadvantages and need to be selected according to specific application occasions and requirements.

The breakaway valve with internal threads on one end and external threads on the other end is more flexible, but the sealing may be slightly worse; the breakaway valve with internal threads on both ends has a simple structure and good sealing, but the scope of application is relatively narrow.
